A magical adventure is about to unfold...and I hope you'll join me for the tale! 🍂🌳🌙

Published over 2 years ago • 2 min read

Greetings from Azuria, my dear Enclave friend,

I hope you're having a day of magical adventures!

I'm writing to you shortly after publishing the newest episode of the World of Azuria podcast where we explore one of my favorite chapters of Buried Heroes! If you haven't had a chance to listen to the podcast yet, you'll find new episodes every Tuesday as we delve into the next chapter of the Age of Azuria series.

A New Serial Adventure!

In the episode, I share details about one of my newest projects that I have been so excited to tell you about—The Tree of Silver! And the day for telling you about it has finally arrived!

This story brings together two of my favorite things, epic fantasy fiction and tabletop roleplaying games (especially D&D). Each week, you'll receive a new piece of the story in your inbox, and we'll adventure week-by-week together! I haven't tried something like this before in written form, and I would love for you to join me on this journey!

You can read more about it here! If you're interested in answering the call of adventure (like I hope you are!), you can join the waitlist for The Tree of Silver and get early access to story previews before our tale begins!

This adventure takes place in Eldura, Azuria's ancient past. Here's a snippet from the story's opening:

Two hundred years ago, one of the last dragons of Sanctuary fell. The dragon, Sharr’kahn, attacked King Tavian’s forces as the king and his army rooted out the last of the usurpers to the throne. Sharr’kahn’s bones still reside behind the throne of Sanctuary.

The throne where Tavian still sits.

But this is not the king’s story.

One true beginning of our tale harkens back even further, eight hundred years before Sharr’kahn’s defeat, across the mighty rivers of our world, upon the banks of Bastion. There, one of the few survivors of the fall of Orison washed ashore, her tiny daughter in her arms.

This is going to be such a fun experience! I'm excited about the intimacy of sending the story to you, piece by piece, and sharing new steps of the adventure with you each week.

Amber Queen print copies are in!

In other news, my hardback and paperback author copies of Amber Queen arrived, and they are soooo pretty!

You can view more photos on my instagram, @bethballauthor đź’š

I just got the hardback up on the floating shelf in my office, and it looks so pretty with the rest of the series! You can preorder your print copy now before release on August 31, 2021!

Other Fantasy Goodies!

And last but not least, I have a free short story from a fellow fantasy author to share with you about a dragon egg and a killing fog! (I think the dragon is so cute!)

I also wanted to share a book recommendation! Between my last letter and today, I read The Midnight Bargain by CL Polk and loved it! If you imagined a fantasy, feminist Jane Austen novel (not that Jane isn't feminist, but this is more overt) with spirit magic, you would have this gorgeous book! The world is intriguing and immersive with vivid descriptions of magic and wonderful characters! It does lean toward the YA end of the fantasy spectrum, though I feel like it occupies a more neutral space, like Naomi Novik's Uprooted, but I wanted to add the caveat just in case that's not your thing.

Thank you for sharing this time with me. I hope the rest of your day is filled with magic and adventure!

✨ Beth
